Career and Life Planning
(1 semester)

Develop skills and strategies in career and lifestyle management, goal-setting, decision-making, problem solving, time management, energy and stress management, and conflict resolution.

Family Studies
(1 semester)

Study social, emotional, and physical growth during major life stages including understanding stress, elements in a changing self and examining personal decisions in areas such as drug use and AIDS/STDs, human sexuality, family life, crises, and assessing community and personal resources.

Second Year

(1 year)

Introduction to the teaching profession with emphasis on the critical shortage areas.

Orientation to Early Child Development
(1 year)

Learn about the growth and development of children
ages three to six by evaluating childcare settings and the
​ practices, regulations, and opportunities in the child care industry.

Third Year

Teaching Observation
​(1 year)

Observe teaching at multiple grade levels while focusing on the elements of effective instruction,
​planning and preparation, learning environments, instructional strategies, and professional responsibilities. 

Fourth Year

Teaching Internship
​(1 year)

Select grade level of choice and go to that location during class to work with students.
